A Message from your CEO
I always tell people that their credit union is NOT a bank. We have different priorities than others, and our number one priority is YOU, the members and owners of the Credit Union of Vermont. Recently, we have heard many questions and concerns from folks regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus, the safety of their money, and our preparedness.
As is the case with other credit unions, your funds are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration to at least $250,000. There are many ways in which members can be insured for more than this and I encourage you to learn more about them here: https://www.mycreditunion.gov/share-insurance. I also want members to know that the Credit Union of Vermont is in EXCELLENT financial health. We have earned a Bauer Financial 5-Star rating an incredible 91 consecutive quarters, more than 22 years! We don’t invest in the stock market or make speculative investments. The best investment we can make is a loan to a member.
While our lobby is now closed in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order, a "Walk-Up Teller Window" has been installed in our entryway vestibule and it is now available for you. When visiting the credit union only one person should enter the vestibule at a time and maintain a distance of at least 6' from others at all times.
You still have excellent access to your accounts. Use the ATM (cleaned frequently), your debit card or credit card. Deposits can be placed in our outside depository which is located adjacent to our ATM. Use our Mobile Check Deposit service to deposit checks using your smart phone or other mobile device. Our internet banking system and mobile app allow you to transfer funds, check balances and review transactions and contact us. Dial our Private Branch-25 phone banking system at 877-596-8728. You can email us at info@CUVermont.coop or even text us at 802-773-0027. Of course, if you call us on the phone, we will happily talk with you during business hours.
As members, I want you to know what a wonderful staff you have here. Jennifer, Julie, Michele, Rachel, Judy, Pat, Earl, and I are all committed to you. We have lowered our loan rates, and please let us know if you would like to skip a payment. It’s a great time to be a member.
Finally, I’d like to remind everyone to please remember the Golden Rule of kindness. The coronavirus is a serious matter but we’ll get through it together.
It’s our privilege to serve as your credit union.
Brian L Fogg, CEO
